Hoo Mill Crossroads

Signpost at Hoo Mill crossroads

The Parish Council has written to the County Council, 14.3.19, to no avail.
The new contract has been given to ARRIVA from the end of April, this is a service subsidised by the County Council, or in this case, probably the developer of the new houses by Stafford Crematorium.
The problem is that only 2 passengers from Brancote Cottages regularly use the service, other passengers are from the Haywoods.
The developer has paid ARRIVA to provide a half hourly loop bus service from the new houses by the crematorium to Stafford. This will run along Tixall Rd from Stafford to the Crematorium, then up Blackheath Laneand back along Hydrant Way (when it is open) to Tixall Rd. There is no time to extend the service to Gt Haywood before the next bus is due.
We would like a limited bus service to Tixall and Ingestre - one bus to Stafford in the morning, one mid day, and one about 5.30 to 6pm for people that work.
The lack of the bus service will isolate elderly and young people, who do not drive. There will be no service from the villages to the GP or Dentist in Gt Haywood.
The service is also used when people's cars are out of action or being serviced.
If you would like to support the retention of the bus service please sign the online petition via the following link:
