INGESTRE & TIXALL MONTHLY NEWS MARCH 2020

The Annual Parish Meeting scheduled for Wednesday April 22nd at 7.30pm in the Village Hall at Tixall has been cancelled.

The next Parish Council meeting should be the Annual Council Meeting on May 13th followed by an ordinary meeting, but this may be cancelled.

The Parish Council is still trying to establish the current ownership of Trent Drive, Ingestre. So that plans can be made to safeguard it for the future, alongwith the River Bridge.

The Parish Clerk now has the new Electoral Registers for Ingestre & Tixall which are available for inspection by appointment.

The next Parish Council agenda and minutes for the past 12 months should be found on our website at: www.tixall-ingestre-andrews.me.uk/pc/iwtpc.htm   (or Google Ingestre with Tixall Parish Council).

The planning application for extensions at Gestron, Ingestre has been granted. The application for change of use at Heathcroft Paddock has gone to appeal. Representations have been made on an application for a new stable block behind the garages at Tixall Mews and demolition of garage and extensions at 2, Ivy Cottage, Tixall.

The  HS2 petition to the House of Lords Select Committee on Monday March 30th has been cancelled.

The Council hopes to use a grant from HS2 to restore and secure the entrance to Tixall Icehouse, Survey the field surrounding Tixall Gatehouse to clarify the routes of the water pipes from the Hydraulic Ram and underground water wheel; and to upgrade the canal towpath from Tixall Lock to the Aqueduct.

The Canal & River Trust have said that as the damage to the Swivel Bridge is to the parapet and wingwall, and not the arch, they will not be taking any further action there at present.

Due to the deteriorating health of Dr Andrews, the council is advertising for a replacement Clerk: an average of 3 or 4 hours /week at a minimum of £10.37/hr depending on experience. Applications to Mr Sindrey by March 26th.

The Parish Council has made grants of £670 for the maintenance of Ingestre churchyard and clock, and £392 for Tixall churchyard.

Thanks to Mr SIndrey and Eric Enocson for moving the stone block from the verge on Billy's Hill.

We have been informed by Stafford Borough Council that our recycling bins at the Village Hall will be removed by the end of March 2020. Large bags with covers will be provided for paper waste, replacing the in-bin trays.

The lorry skip visits have been cancelled for this year.

The Parish Council now has digital copies of the Ingestre and Tixall Tithe Maps. Copies available on request.
